Maybe even more old-world than the old-world in ways, since it was all about preserving that moment in time when they immigrated? In my area we have very strong Polish, Belgian and Dutch traditions--polka, kermiss, they are even having an authentic windmill built in the Netherlands and shipped to a small town in my area.
