Life Goes On

Isn't it strange how life goes on no matter what? My girls jump on their trampoline. We cuddle our baby all evening. We make rhubarb juice from the garden. We try to learn how to bicycle. We have fishcakes for dinner. We feed the ducks at the lake.

But the sadness in the midst of it all.

Over 70 died. Most of them were teenagers, our finest ones. Young political activists, talented idealists and changemakers. Many from my region were killed, they were 18-19 years old. The older tried to protect the younger, and they didn't survive.

I hope we will recover. But we'll never forget them. And we'll keep loving eachother.

I can't even think about Norway. I just can't believe how one human being can destroy so much for so many. And for no reason. Nothing can justify what happened on that island.

Your baby is just beautiful ... she's a picture of hope and love, isn't she?

Live goes on because cannot stop...but the fact of what happen will go with everyone. It is difficult to understand, and go with...and in these cases each one is a friend, a known young...

To go back to simple things may be strange. But to go back to simple things is the best way to go on. For them, those who died. For you ,in Norway, and all of us, who have to keep their memories.

Yes, it is strange that life does go on. But you won't forget those brave young people who lost their lives, and the fact that you will keep on loving is the best tribute you can pay to them. I've been so impressed and touched by how the Norwegian people have stood up together to proclaim unity.

To my dear friend in the north: your last two posts have been so moving - with great sadness and joy, side by side. While you'll never forget all those lives lost, to keep on loving and focussing on all that is good in this sometimes incomprehensible world of ours is the only way forward... I'm jumping right into that big hug for Norway of Kaveh Adel's (so lovely!), and I also send your beautiful baby girl a gentle kiss on the nose! With love & hugs from your friend in Londonxxx

May we all keep loving each other - and perhaps loving each other just a little more because of this. The best way to show it is for life to go on as normal, with a little thought every so often to what has happened and those whose lives do not go on as normal....

You have eloquent readers. I can't add anything, except that it has been a decade since 9-11 and life is normal now, for me anyway, but still different.

I know it is such a tragedy. The worst part is that here in the states all we here about is Amy Winehouse. While she may have been talented it was such a waste. Did you choose a name for the baby?

I've read many articles about the horrible events in Norway here in the US. I don't even know one song by Amy Winehouse.

Sad indeed. I can`t stop thinking about all the funerals this week (and my friends who are there). He took our finest youth.

Over to the positive side: Your girl is beautiful! I hope you are doing fine all five. Hope I`ll see you soon.
