Take Me To The Mountain

Do you ever do that - be a tourist in your own town?

We've had the most amazing weather lately, and today we headed together with the rest of the tourists to the mountain with the lift. I felt like we saw it for the first time too.

There are still snow up there. People were skiing.

You can climb the mountain sacred to the sami people too. But that would be another five hours. And we had kids with us.

Afterwards we barbequed on the veranda.

Tomorrow it's back to the hamster wheel - but that's ok too.

Have a nice week:)

8 Year Old

Happy Mother's day! In Norway Mother's Day is on a totally different date, and we tend to keep it down. Mother and Father's Days are always great for socks and panties refill!

8 year old in da house, with cupcakes (mix) even this mother can make! Arctic Dad on the other hand...made coco cake and cheese cake with cherry jelly lid. Very succesful, and 13 girls were happy. The 8 year old herself was pleased with the kick bike, that now even can be used outside (hurrah!).

Speaking of outside, we hung out by the shore in the weekend, still a bit cold - hat's not off yet. But soon, soon.

Please have a look at One Day In History: a reward winning photo project by a female Norwegian photographer with portraits of survival youth from the Utoya tragedy. The portraits are powerful, yet silent in a graceful way that honor these strong teenagers.

Wishing you a good week:)

The Winter Empire Strikes Back

We are drowning with snow! The past week it has snowed nonstop. Cannot report back of any spring signs.

Here you can see Arctic Dad shuffling for his life. His body will probably go into shock when he finds himself in Austin, Texas in two days time. But hey, it's not like we're feeling sorry for the man. One week without three feverish kids and a slightly weather sick partner? Only listening to music every night, drinking Budweiser (is that what one drinks in Texas, do I have any readers there?) and wearing t-shirt outdoors.

But we want presents from America. Bubblegum and Converse. Update: According to Jane, also twizzlers red strawberry licorice, other suggestions?.

In between I took a small trip to the flea market. Gorgeous enamel tea kettle, folksy leather bag, Swedish ceramic wall platte and fun Scandi fabric coasters. All headed for my Etsy shop.

Linking up to A Living Space this week:)

Have a good week, friends!

Come Kicksled!

My week: Sushi night with the book circle here, Sigrid was 40. It's inflation of 40th celebrations this year! Bentes was in June. In two weeks it's Camillas, another three it's Heges. Birgiths was recently. And tomorrrow it's Arctic Dads too. I'll be exhausted by Christmas!

Taking down the bird house. Back in May when snow is gone (sometimes that means June)

First trip of the season with the kicksled. Anna loved it! Kicksled is just the most practical thing, it takes you from A to B, lots of fresh air and leg exercise as a bonus.

Next weekend is the market with my cushions. I'll show them all to you next Sunday. Cross fingers, I hope people like vintage and retro as much as do.

Have a good week!
