Maternity Leave Ends: Enter Househusband!

She's ten months now and more than ready for her father to take over: On Tuesday I start my big girl job again. But working in the public sector I get two hours off every day to keep on nursing, so the transition is not so brutal.

Arctic Dad has his twelve weeks mandatory paternity leave, and I look forward to ready-picked up kids and dinner. I have no plans of vacuuming, fold clothes or empty the dishwasher (which we all know is 2nd boring activity after cleaning the bathroom) until September.

Maybe we should talk him into blogging about his upcoming househusband life? And will he get the time to play his guitars??

Keep on following, dear readers!

I'm impressed you are given those valuable hours to continue nursing, so important. I wish other Countries were more forward thinking, saving's in the future, for the Health sector!
I hope the transition to back to work is smooth, all the best! :)

I am back to work on Monday too. I'm really not looking forward to it. We don't get paid paternity leave in Australia, my husband got one week unpaid when our bubs were born.
I hope it all goes well for us. Same stories, opposite side of the world!
I would love to hear the adventures of Arctic Dad, I bet he's and old pro and could teach me a thing or two!

Good luck to the house husband (and to you for your return to work!) One of my colleagues came back to work a few weeks ago and her husband is now home with their little boy for the next 3 months. It's working out well for them!

Best of luck to all of you for the transition. Your country has some very sane laws to support parents! Looking forward to Arctic Dad's posts.

Wow, how great that a dad can take twelve weeks to spend time with his baby ! Here, they only have 11 half-paid days. So there are good things about going back to work (ah, the bliss of not having to vacuum anymore !) I would love to fread about his new life ! Anyway, good luck to the both of you.

I wish my husband had leave. It would be nice to have him around more often. I suppose we don't need it since I don't work outside the home, but it sure would be nice. He went back to work the day after I gave birth. Whaaaaaa!

Wow, you may have a lot of snow where you live, but you also have some wonderful benefits. How marvelous for each of you to have so much time with your little one. I am impressed & look forward to hearing how your "househusband" gets along.
