Oh, The Rites of Passage

I'm still here, not going anywhere:)

Needed a bunch of kleenex today, as my middle daughter started school. It's just something about the little girl with the big backpack walking towards rector to shake her hand. It's so emotional and a moment you want to freeze forever.

Did you read the American woman's take on ways (the way!) to bring up kids in Norway? It's interesting, I feel part of a group myself. It's kind of secure, but maybe creativity and individuality is lost in the homogeneity of our society.

Holiday photos will come! I must stretch that summer some more.

Oh I hope she enjoyed her first day at school! And that you survived it too!

It is such a strange thing because you know the day is coming for years and when it does the tears start flowing. My oldest started high school and it is so hard to think he is on his way out. In 4 years he will be gone! American kids just don't stick around!

it's. lovely to visit your blog and have a"fix" of Norway, we took the Hurtigruten north to south trip in February for our silver wedding anniversary but have no money left to have a summer break on Halsnøy, south of Bergen!!!!

I hope she is enjoying school. I used to laugh at my mum if she got sentimental and cried as we grew up. Now I am the one crying when my kids start school or even when my son moved upto scouts from cubs! x
