Vintage toys for rainy days

It's raining and we're all a bit bored.
Luckily my children like to play with the toys I had as little,
and even what my sister had in the late 1960's.

I love that it's not plastic and that it doesn't break.
Vintage Brio was made to last, and let's just admit that Polly Pocket's not.
(and sometimes I spend whole afternoons searching for little pieces that are missing.)

Have you kept your childhood toys? (p.s boat trip photos coming up soon)

These are the kinda toys I love, they never go out of fashion and children play with them for hours. I wish my parents had kept more of mine. My favourite childhood toy is a wooden puppet I got one Christmas. It was the Christmas I realised Santa Claus wasn't real.

We have a number of my husband's (cars) and a few of mine... dollhouse mostly, so they are not played with much. Your set is in great shape!

My son (24) still has his Legos. I don't know why, but they are packed away, maybe to pass on to a grandchild some day?

I just un-earthed my 'bride' doll that Mum hand sewed....plus a "Snoopy" softie....they are getting a well earned wash to go on the kids beds to play with.

My 3 years old daughter has a lot of dolls and toys but always wants to play with us .
Only the morning after sleep she wants to keep in her hands a wooden duck .
Here the weather is soft and clear .Earlier today we had some drops of rain .

I love these toys! So wonderful that you can pass on parts of your childhood to your children - really special.
