The Sun Shines on my Teak Cabinet

Guess what! I met the sun for the first time in a few months on Saturday. I felt renewed, fresh and happy. It's a wonderful experience, every single year.

The light fell beautifully on the beloved mid-century teak cabinet I fought over at an estate sale some time ago.

The light fell on the sofa too. And the plants, surprisingly surviving the Polar Night. I felt like capturing how the sunlight fell on everything in the house.

Playing outdoors is different now: Sun, snow and light. It's not even that cold anymore.

I hope you have a splendid week where you are!

So exactly how long have you gone without the sun?? Has it been over a month? It never occurred to me your house plants might die.

Your photos are all so gorgeous and cheerful--glad the sun is back!

The return of the sun - one of the best days of the year.

Hi Nancy. The sun diseappeared in mid november and returned on the 21st of January, but it depends on the weather if we actually get to see it at that date. The trick is to have plants who can take little light...Christine: not very cold is a couple of minus degrees celcius, no problem to deal with that.

I'm so happy for you, even if it's hard to me to imagine a world without sun.. We have it almost all the year long here!

PS: I love your teak Cabinet!!:)

I have similar thoughts that you have when it comes to sunshine. But mine are for the rain. We get so little and only in the winter. It's always a blessing to see.
Thanks, Etty

Beautiful cabinet, and you have a beautiful home too!

I think it is so nice how you are appreciating the sunlight, a lot of us living further south take it for granted I think!

Wonderful! Love the light - so much goodness in a glowing sunny room.

Ida - no, I didn't, but someone else must have spent weeks crocheting it! I got it from a second hand store, it's wool and we all love it.
