Kicking the road

21st of December and the darkest day of the whole year. Not that I can tell any difference from yesterday, but we get about an hour and a half of daylight now.

Luckily the snow makes it much lighter, and I love, love the blue lightning.

Look what we finally got hold of: Don't have the slightest idea what it might be called in English - but in Norwegian it's Spark, meaning Kick. I know this brilliant thing also exists in Finland, since the second one we bought is made there.

The Kick is a:

* Chair
* Vehicle
* Sleigh
* Something to hang your grocery bag on

The four of us is now ready to kick the roads like a cadillac on snow.

I'm so happy that my daughters can wear the hat I had as a child. It's from reindeer fur, made by sami crafters. You can see the beautiful ornaments in the typical colours for the sami culture; red, yellow, blue and green.

I promised my girlfriends I'd post this photo of them from Saturday's night in. Laughing with your best friends should be on prescription. Giggling, eating, dancing, drinking and joking for a whole night can never be overestimated. No subjects are left untouched.

Even though cleaning the kitchen cupboards for Christmas was a bit heavy the next day.

I wish you all a great Christmas. I'll see you around soon!

Love the hat your daughter wears. I don't think I could survive with only 1-1/2 hours of sunlight. Australians at the minimum, even in winter get 8 hours!!! But girlfriends partying, celebrating and laughting I totally understand

What a marvelous photo of your friends. Laughter and girl fun seems to be the exact same over here in Canada!

Happy New Year

Hi from Finnish Lapland! Yes, we have these, Potkukelkka in Finland.. and in English it translates a Kicksled. Great aren't they? Especially useful for really icy days! Love Michelle.
