Corner View: Typical architecture from my town

My town consists mainly of small wooden buildings, some old some new. And a big metallic creature here and there, rather aimlessly thrown up.

Someone could say it's a successful mixture of different styles and time periods. Others like me could say it's accidental and messy.

Let's call the typical arctitecture of my town a style orgie of the not so sophisticated kind( I think there are sophisticated ones).

But I really like my town.

One of my favourite buildings is this one, the old cinema still going strong. It's from 1913 and just dashing.

And why don't we throw in a typical mid 60s buildings, housing 72 flats. Ours being one of them.

I like how our flat has a large living room where lots of light is let in from two sides.

I feel the same about here! I love the cinema, and light in the living room is a very good thing.

I love the colour in your buildings....most of ours are so grey and we would say in Scots, dreich! I will email about my holiday plans - haven't quite decided yet! It's an organised tour with a company called Explore and I only have a few concerns about it being cool for camping and the tics!

Looks absolutely charming.

Are you anxious for spring?

When do you get to see the ground again?

So interesting to see this. I am glad you like it there. Old theaters are the best :)

Thanks so much for your happy-challenge, I will get round to it (maybe this weekend?). Life has been far too hectic around here lately.

It is very nice to see your pictures, it reminds me of the old days...
