January 2013 In The Arctic

How are you all doing in the new year? We're kind of pale these days.

Looking forward to the sun coming back in a couple of weeks!

My father celebrated his 75th with us this Cristmas. He had ordered what his father had for his 75th birthday:  meatball soup with vegetables, beer and aquavit. This is the traditional feat dish for the middle region of Norway.

As you can see: our garden is filled with snow now. My daughter looked outside the window this morning and asked when will summer arrive, mum?

I said it's a while to.

Wishing you a great January!

Happy New Year, wishing you some brightest in your day very soon, London is so gloomy at the moment, I cannot imagine how it is to live with no proper light at all. x

Happy new year!

Even though I don't live in the permanent darkness zone it seems to have been more or less permanently grey/dull/dark for days and days..... one day I am sure that the sun will shine again - and I'll probably be at work!!!!

Happy new year. Wind, rain and darkness here, but there is the strong faith in summer too :) Your daddy's birthday looks so cosy and warm.

Perhaps when she's a little older your daughter will appreciate the quote by Camus, "In the depth of winter, I finally learned that there lay within me an invincible summer"?

A very happy New Year to you and yours, Mali!

Happy New Year, hope you get some sun soon! We've had beautiful sunny winter days here in Lillehammer but I've been stuck inside with the flu. Oh well, hope the sun will be back once we are out again! :)

Hey dearest - we've done happy new years but I wanted to also put a big warm one in writing too! Happy '13 & happy 75th to your dad! :-) Looks like snow is on its way here in London over the next few days - soon the papers will be full of the drama of our one day of snow a year (if we're lucky) and we'll all be unable to cope... ;-) Ha ha, only joking. I might take Maia and Oskar sledging on Hampstead Heath if we get more than a sprinkling... Or maybe not - with little O being just a month old... Wishing you a great weekend up North and a wonderful year, with lots more entertaining posts on your blog to cheer us all up! X

Happy New Year, Mali! I can see the sun hiding behind the mountain, so it can't be too far off now!
