A Pre Foggy Giveaway

This is all my brain has managed the last couple of weeks: knitting kitchen cloths while holding feet high and watching DVDs (still shaken after faboulous fantastic I Am love). I think the nursing fog has started already. The nesting sure has.

I'll tell you a secret: You'll never get any kitchen cloths this good. They're soft cotton, washed at 60 degrees in machine. You'll never turn back when you start using them, and will be knitting them yourself before you know it. Or get pregnant.

To win this pair of brown and blue cloths: leave a comment before Wednesday the 13th of July. Simple as that!

Disastrous knitting

Some of you might remember that I started to knit myself a bright, green vest.

Well, something went wrong along the way and it ended up full of flaws. And even though I'm full of flaws myself I decided to give it a round in the washing machine to fit for my daughter instead.

Let's just say this toy rabbit named Sander just got himself a new bathrobe.

But I'm not giving up and therefore am throwing myself on this book called "Joy of crocheting". I wonder whether it will be joy or frustration, but let's just wait and see.

Second snow - this time for keeps

First of all, welcome to all readers who found me through Sarah Londons great blog, and The Selvage Blog Hope you'll stay around.

Second snowfall is here, this time I hope it's for keeps. December is just not the same without it.

Went out to catch some light and play. It was cold for tiny feet.

I wonder if the guy I saw the other day bicycling and smoking a cigarette now has put on spikes...

I'm so excited over the woolen scarf a dear colleague gave me recently, she knows what a scarfoholic I am. I's a proper Babushka shawl from the Soviet Union. I love the colours, and Arctic mum trend cast sees a big wave of Soviet nostalgia in the years ahead, making these shawls even more popular.

The shawl matches in a strange way one of my favourite bags. It must be from the 70s, cause it reminds me of my childhood.

My next knitting project: a gorgeous looking vest from Pickles.

I feel that I really need this vest, but this colour is a bit...interesting, shall we say. Guess that's what shopping online is all about.

Have a great week! I will try to hang up the Christmas calendar. Anyone else who's slightly panicking over Christmas to doos?

Enter Polar Night

The moment is here, when we have to say goodbye to the sun. Some goodbyes are sader than others, this one is not that kind.

I know that we will meet again in only two months, that is not long considering how time flies. (and thinking it's only a year since last time we sad goodbye) And considering how many days to open the Christmas calendar, how many Christmas plans and Christmas parties there is in between. And the treat in January, the international film festival that simply takes away all the potensial gloom of the Polar Night.

Thinking of all this, I don't feel sad at all. So - welcome Polar Night!

Between noon and two I'm ususally at my desk, so with light only within these hours a day, I must turn my eyes to objects inside. But I promise to go chase the Northern Lights for more photos!

I will send this photo to Vitra, who encourages people to share photos of everyday use of their objects. I could have cropped it, but everything is connected: this Vitra object is not hanging on the wall by itself - but rather in use next to the curtains, with the radio on and my daughter having youghurt and drinking from her Winnie the Pooh bottle.

I love my Utensilo organizer, absolutely everything goes in there. It's red and bright, and it was a Christmas present from Cohabit three years ago.

The Christmas markets are coming as tight as hails these days. My sister exhibited and sold her fabolous knitted, crocheted and plaited silver jewellery. She's very talented, and absolutely everything is handcrafted. If you ever visit Copenhagen, make sure to visit her shop Unika in Kompanistræde.

And my friend Camilla sold her monsters, skirts, dresses and trousers for kids. She runs the great blog Skrekk og GruThe monsters are so funny, each one of them comes with a different personality.

By the way, have in an unconcious moment obliged myself to run 10 kilometers in the beginning of next year, together with two girlfriends. Help, what came over me. Does that mean not having any wine for all the Christmas parties? Better start running, then.
